Avocado-based DIY At Home Spa Recipe
Avocado Facial mask
Avocados make a moisturizing mask that’s nourishing for dry or sun-exposed skin. To prepare this face mask, you will need 1 avocado, peeled and seeded and 2 teaspoons sweet almond oil or extra virgin olive oil.
You mash avocado with a fork or using 2 spoons and add oil.
Apply the mixture to face and leave on 15 to 20 minutes.
Rinse with lukewarm water follow by cold water to close up the skin pores and pat dry with towel. You finish with some moisturizer on your face.
Avocado Hair Mask
To prepare this hair mask, you will need 1 avocado, peeled and cut into chunks,2 tablespoons heavy cream and1 tablespoon raw organic honey (or manuka honey).
Mix ingredients in a blender. Comb mixture through freshly washed hair. Wrap head in plastic (a grocery bag will do), and cover with a towel. Let sit for 15 minutes, and rinse well.
This deep hair conditioning treatment will leave your hair soft and silky. The fats in the avocado and heavy cream are rich in emollients that quickly penetrate the hair, while the honey keeps your scalp’s moisture level at an optimum balance — not too dry or too oily — and acts as a natural antibacterial agent.
Avocado Body Wrap
To prepare this body wrap, you will need 1 very ripe avocado, 1 cup of heavy cream and one quarter cup of Aloe Vera gel. You will also need to get lots of towels and a plastic wrap.
You will blend the avocado pulp, cream and Aloe Vera gel to get a thick paste. Place lots of old towels down where you will nap later. Apply paste to body. Wash hands and loosely wrap over masked areas. You just lie down and relax for one hour before you rinse off.
Apple Cider Vinegar-based DIY At Home Spa Recipe
Apple Cider Vinegar Detoxifying Face Mask
To create this vinegar face mask you will need half a cup of cooked oatmeal, 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar and 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
You mix the ingredients together in a bowl to form a paste which you can apply to your face and neck while avoiding the area near to your eyes. You let the mask stay on your skin for up to 15 minutes before you rinse off with lukewarm water follow by cold water to close up the skin pores. You dry your face and finish with some moisturizer.
Apple cider vinegar can restore the skin pH level. Apple cider vinegar’s antiseptic and antibacterial properties also benefit acne sufferers. It can also improve the overall condition of skin, infusing softness, reducing redness and treating age spots.
Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Mask (Good for Oily Hair)
To create this hair mask, you combine one quarter cup of apple cider vinegar with the grated peel of an entire lemon and allow it to set for 15 minutes to absorb the excess oil from your scalp, and then rinse in the shower.
Apple cider vinegar will remove build up from styling products and conditioners and strengthen the hair shaft, leaving you with soft, shiny strands. It will also balance hair’s pH level, kill bacteria, and is a cure for dandruff.
Apple Cider Vinegar Body Scrub
To prepare this body scrub, you will need half a cup Oatmeal, 1 tablespoon dark organic Honey (or manuka honey), 1 tablespoon Apple cider vinegar and 1 teaspoon finely ground Almonds
You first warm up the honey a bit, but not too hot. Then you mix all ingredients well until you have a smooth paste. You can now gently apply it to your skin and scrub to exfoliate. Then let the mixture dry. Wash it off with warm water and a warm damp washcloth; end with a splash of cold water. Pat your skin dry with a clean towel. Finally tone and moisturize
Yogurt-based DIY At Home Spa Recipe
Yogurt Face Mask
This mask is very simple to prepare because you only just need 3 tablespoons of plain or vanilla Greek yogurt. You just apply the yogurt on your face using your fingertips or a small makeup brush. You let the yogurt stay on your skin for up to 15 minutes. After this, you rinse with lukewarm water and follow by cold water to close up the skin pores. You dry your face and apply some moisturizer.
Greek yogurt is really high in protein and calcium and has happy live bacteria cultures that make your skin glow. Yogurt also has exfoliating properties, it helps to close the pores and stimulates the production of collagen (a substance needed to maintain the elasticity of the skin and prevent wrinkles).
Yogurt Body Scrub
To prepare this body scrub, you will need 3 tablespoons baby oil
1 tablespoon organic plain yogurt and 1 tablespoon granulated white sugar.
You mix the ingredients together and massage all over your body in a gentle scrubbing motion. Rinse well with warm water. Remember that sugar will dissolve quite quickly so this recipe won’t last very long. Often it is wise to make this one just before you get into the shower. Yogurt Hair Mask
To prepare this hair mask, you will need half a cup organic plain Yogurt and half a cup of raw organic honey (or manuka honey).You combine the ingredients in a bowl.Apply this to your hair, working in sections, from roots to ends.Let the mixture sits for about 20 minutes.Rinse with warm water and again with cold water to seal the cuticle.You shampoo, condition, and style.
