Facial toners are very important for maintaining the health of the skin. The purpose of facial toner is to strip away dirt and residue that your facial cleanser may have missed. Additionally, facial toner helps to make your face feel fresh and clean.
A facial toner is needed to restore the normal pH of your skin to prevent loss of moisture and the excessive growth of bacteria. This is especially so if you use soap to wash your face which tends to dry out the skin because of its high alkalinity. Using a facial toner will close the open pores, preventing blackheads and loss of moisture from the skin.
The only problem is commercial skin toning products are often quite expensive and contain harsh chemicals (such as alcohol) that may dry your skin. Fortunately, there are safe and easy ways for you to make a homemade facial toner using natural ingredients that you can find in the kitchen.
Aside from being more affordable, a homemade facial toner is also very effective in improving your complexion. While some experts believe toners are only mandatory for people with oily skin, others still think that skin toning should be a regular part of your beauty routine.
