Following are some skin whitening herbs you can use to brighten skin naturally at home
Steep one teaspoon Dried Fennel in one cup of boiling water for at least one hour. Strain the herbal material from the water, and add one tablespoon buttermilk. Apply directly to the skin and allow the mask to remain on for 15 to 20 minutes before rinsing thoroughly.
Chamomile is an herb that offers many benefits, including fading the skin with its bleaching properties. You can use chamomile to lighten skin naturally by adding three teaspoons dried chamomile flowers to one cup of boiling water, and allowing the mixture to steep for 10 minutes. Strain the herbs from the liquid, and add one tbsp. each of honey and rose water. Apply directly to the skin, and rinse after 15 minutes. This treatment can be performed daily, and any excess solution store in the refrigerator.
Turmeric powder is probably the most effective when mixed with water and applied as a paste regularly. Turmeric protects skin from sun naturally and also whitens your skin. Most of the village women in India start applying it to their daughter’s skin from their teenage years to combat the darkening effect of the sun.
One teaspoon of turmeric powder can be used to make a paste with 2 tablespoon of milk cream, 1 teaspoon of lime juice and half a cup of plain yogurt. For better results, you could add either sandalwood powder and tomato pulp or cucumber juice and papaya paste.
Each of these has natural skin lightening substances in its composition. Apply this paste on the face and neck or any area exposed to the sun, and leave undisturbed for 15 minutes or until it dries on the skin. Scrub it off with a towel and rinse with cold water. Regular application of these pastes can lighten your skin drastically.
You could mix 1 teaspoon of Sandalwood Powder, available at Indian grocery stores, and 1 tablespoon of rose water until it forms a paste. Apply it on your face and neck every day and keep undisturbed until it dries. Perform this routine for a few weeks for a lighter skin tone.
Aloe Vera juice is another remedy that has the potential to lessen dark spots. Rub 2 tablespoons gel or juice on the area. Create a mixture of 2 tablespoons each of fresh aloe vera juice and cucumber juice. Mix it thoroughly and apply it to your face before bed. Allow it to dry and sleep with it to promote lightening while you sleep.
Mix Coriander with turmeric powder for an overnight skin whitening herbal face mask. Use 1 teaspoon of juice taken from the crushed leaves of fresh coriander. Add 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder and mix. Keep the mixture on overnight and wash in the morning with cold water.
Horseradish has a traditional property of bleaching the skin. If you want to lighten your skin you may well try a face mask with 1 teaspoon horseradish, 3 to 5 drops of rosemary essential oil and 1 teaspoon lemon juice. Gently apply it on your face and leave it for a few minutes to dry. Wash your face and see your skin glowing. Horseradish herbs whiten skin and its skin whitening property can leave you in awe.
