When I first heard that scientists have proven that honey is beneficial to the skin, I thought it was just a fad. However, after reading some of the research on it I became convinced that the benefits of honey for the skin were real.

Honey is one of the oldest sweeteners known to man, but its benefits don’t stop there. Honey is a veritable liquid gold, full of amazing qualities some of which are still being discovered today.

The ancient Egyptians recognized the benefits of honey over 3,000 years ago. They used it as a preservative and for healing wounds; it has relatively recently been confirmed that honey has antibacterial and antiseptic properties. An ancient Egyptian remedy involved the use of honey to cure cataracts.

This liquid super food has also been used to treat wounds and burns. In fact until the Second World War, honey was commonly used to treat skin wounds. The curative power behind honey is that it has incredible cleansing and antiseptic properties combined with the ability to absorb moisture making bacteria growth and survival minimal.

Honey is also an excellent antioxidant which can help boost the body’s immune system, fight infection, reduce inflammation and aid tissue healing. A sore throat can be helped with some honey as it coats and soothes the throat while preventing bacterial growth.

Honey contains natural antioxidant properties that can destroy biologically destructive chemical agents which have been linked to many diseases such as cancer. Not only can honey’s antioxidants help to reduce free radicals in the body, they also provide nutrients for the development of new tissue.

Because of the amazing benefits of honey, it has been used for centuries all over the world in different cultures as a natural cure for many ailments, and traditionally as an effective home remedy, for instance the honey and apple cider vinegar tonic which is used for treating arthritis and bad breath.

Honey has also been shown to help with ulcers and other digestive problems. Several studies have revealed that honey can help cure ulcers and some research has shown that honey may be beneficial in the fight against cancer.

Proponents of the health benefits of honey also claim it can aid in cleansing blood and facilitating circulation, aiding in the prevention of arteriosclerosis and capillary diseases. Studies done by researches in the United Kingdom have proven that honey can help reduce cholesterol thereby helping sufferers of diabetes, heart disease, stroke and high blood pressure.

Honey energizes you! This is probably the most common reply kids receive from their parents when they probe “why is honey good for you?” An excellent natural supply source of carbohydrates which provide strength and energy for our bodies, honey is popularly used for its effectiveness in quickly boosting the performance, endurance and relieve muscle fatigue of athletes.

Its natural fruit sugars, fructose and glucose plays an important role in preventing fatigue during exercise and are quickly absorbed into the bloodstream digested by the body. Body builders have been using honey in their daily diets for a long time because of its ability to promote muscle recuperation and restoration while sustaining optimal blood sugar concentrations after training.

The health benefits of honey continue to be discovered but one thing for sure, it is a food certainly worth including in your daily diet. Also, honey is free of cholesterol and it has been reported that adding small amounts of it in the daily diet could even help keep cholesterol levels in check.

If you’re afraid it will make you get fat, honey has many weight loss experts claiming that two parts honey and one part cinnamon served as a drink can help you shed unwanted pounds!

Honey is a much healthier choice than over-processed, factory-made table sugar table sugar and artificial sweeteners which do not have any vitamins or whatsoever nutrients, this natural liquid from the honey bees contains many vitamins like B6, thiamin, niacin, riboflavin, pantothenic acid and certain amino acids and minerals including calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, sodium and zinc.

Honey has a healthy Glycemic Index (GI), meaning that its sugars can be gradually absorbed into the bloodstream to result in better digestion. Eating excessive high-glycemic foods prompts an elevated insulin release in our body as a result of the pancreas being stimulated to metabolize the sudden surge of glucose into the blood.

Some tips in your daily routine diet with honey: Replace the sugar in your tea with honey for a refreshing surge of energy. Other than its benefits it has a great and sweetie taste. Usage of honey in pudding, desserts are so lovable. Honey moderate metabolic stress and lowers the risk for insulin resistance, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and hypertension.

Honey beautifies you! This anti-aging benefit of honey is probably the best reply to “Why is honey good for you?” This golden liquid or thick liquid with brown color cares and works your skin, hair and health. Honey enhances the production of Collagen and Elastin in the skin. These two proteins keep our skin smooth, firm, and wrinkle free. It also helps the skin in producing new skin cells to replace the old and damaged ones.

Honey has antioxidant properties and protects the skin from free radical damage. It also supports the skin’s ability to rejuvenate and refresh depleted skin, leaving it feeling silky soft and supple. There is no doubt that even applying this honey directly on your skin will give you all these benefits and rejuvenate your skin.

Honey’s hygroscopic properties also make it an ideal cosmetic ingredient as it helps keep skin hydrated and fresh and prevents drying. Due to this reason, there exist a huge number of honey products in the market for hair care, baby care, and skin care for sunscreen, hand lotions, facial scrubs and moisturizers.

How to Treat Sweaty Feet Naturally?

How to Treat Sweaty Feet Naturally? To get rid of these foot problems, you have to know how to treat excessive foot sweating. Fortunately, you can treat sweaty feet naturally at the comfort of your own home. Read on to find out more

Excessive sweating creates just the right atmosphere for the development of fungi as well as bacteria. It is this that creates the overwhelming scent. Foot odor is only an indication that the sweat glands happen to be overactive. Whenever sweaty secretions break down they will create the actual horrible smell.

Foot stench is both distressing and annoying because it can also be a cause of foot infections such as athlete’s foot. But it is not at all really serious. Having bad smelling feet can be embarrassing since it frequently indicates bad cleanliness.

To get rid of these foot problems, you have to know how to treat excessive foot sweating. Fortunately, you can treat sweaty feet naturally at the comfort of your own home. Here are some of the best ways to get rid of smelly feet.

Treat sweaty feet naturally with tea. The tannic acid in tea can help stop your foot sweating problem because it tightens the opening of sweat glands and reduces sweating. Soak your feet in tea solution (either using 2 tea bags or 5 teaspoons of black tea) for 30 minutes and repeat it daily for one week for best results.

Apply alum powder on your feet or inside your socks before wearing shoes because it blocks the sweat glands and prevents excessive sweating. You can also soak your feet in warm water mixed with a teaspoon of alum powder. After 15-20 minutes, dry your feet and sprinkle some alum powder on them. Do this once daily.

Treat sweaty feet naturally by soaking them in vinegar. Another way to treat sweaty feet naturally is by soaking your feet in a mixture of warm water and vinegar for 20-30 minutes. Vinegar can also get rid of foot bacteria causing smelly feet.

Treat sweaty feet naturally by soaking them in warm water mix with 2 teaspoons of baking soda for15 to 20 minutes. Baking soda is an effective way to minimize the amount of bacteria. Baking soda neutralizes the pH of sweat and reduces bacteria. You can also put baking soda in both your shoes and socks before wearing them.

You can also treat sweaty feet naturally by soaking your feet in warm water mixed with 5 drops of lavender essential oil for several minutes. Do this remedy twice daily for a few days. Lavender oil not only smells good, it helps kill bacteria. It is also a natural anti-fungal oil, and hence extremely effective in treating foot odor.

Ginger is also an effective solution to treat sweaty feet naturally. Make a puree out of a medium sized ginger root. Steep the puree in a cup of hot water for 10 to 15 minutes. Use a coffee filter to strain the solution. Use the smooth liquid to massage your feet gently each night before going to bed. Repeat the process daily for two weeks to get positive results.

Another good way to treat sweaty feet naturally is by using sage leaves which have tannic acid that help to reduce sweat that contributes to foot odor. Sage has a nice aroma and is very effective in reducing foot odor. Take some dried sage leaves and grind them to a fine powder. Sprinkle the powder between your toes and inside your shoes. You can also soak your feet in some sage tea for half an hour daily to reduce the sweat.

Borax is a disinfectant that kills odor-causing bacteria. You can spray the inside of your shoes with it. If you have the powder form, dust the inside of your shoes with it and wait until the powder appears to disappear before putting on your shoes.

You can make use of hydrogen peroxide to treat sweaty feet naturally. This can be done by combining hydrogen peroxide and water to create a solution for fighting foot odor. Add one teaspoon of 3% peroxide to one cup of water. Use a cotton ball, gauze pad or washcloth to wipe your feet with the mixture to eliminate the bacteria that causes foot odor.

Calluses can contribute to smelly feet. Regular use of a scrubber to clean your feet will prevent the formation of calluses. You can make a powerful homemade scrubber by mixing sugar, clean water and isopropyl alcohol (91% or above) together. Use more sugar than water in order to create a thick mixture. Scrub your feet with the mixture for 5 to 10 minutes to remove dead skin cells, bacteria or fungus that might have developed.

Foot antiperspirant is also another option to treat sweaty feet naturally. Spray the bottom of your feet with an antiperspirant. This will stop the wetness, and, hopefully, the cause of the odor. Do take note that if you also have cracked skin it may be cleared up, too, but the antiperspirant may irritate the skin.

Wear cotton socks and change your socks daily. You should wear cotton socks because cotton is comfortable, does not promote sweating and allow air circulation. It is also important not to wear dirty socks but wear clean dry socks and change it daily.

Keep your feet clean and fresh. You should never neglect the cleanliness of your feet and one way to treat sweaty feet naturally is to practice good foot hygiene. It is best to use medicated or antibacterial soap in washing your feet. You can prevent the growth of bacteria if you have clean and fresh feet.

The body wrap is a beauty treatment that helps you tone up and tighten your body, improve your body circulation and detoxify your body. Body wrap can help to remove excess fluids and toxins from the skin, leaving it smoother. It is also be a great way to reduce cellulite and improve the blood circulation through your body. Perhaps the biggest benefit of a body wrap is that it can help to mobilize fat cells so they can be eliminated from your body more easily.

Body wraps work by using specific salts, vitamins, minerals and essential oils that can help detoxify your body and various herbs that can induce feelings of relaxation at the same time as promoting health benefits.

Body wraps basically work in two stages through absorption and squeezing. By wrapping the body, the pores get opened and fluids are extracted or absorbed by the wrap. This stage is called the absorption stage of the body wrap. Once the fluids are extracted, empty pockets are left in between the cells that when squeezed together, makes the body thinner and leaner than before. This is called the squeezing stage.

There are many spas that offer different types of body wraps like chocolate, aloe Vera, seaweed body wrap, etc. But body wraps are expensive at a spa. You can make your own body wrap at home in order to reap the benefits without the excess cost.

Do-it-yourself body wraps that you can make at home are just as effective as the expensive body wraps that you see on the market or in a spa, using natural ingredients that you can easily find. You can learn how to do a weight loss body wrap at home and save hundreds of dollars!

Before you begin, warm up the room so you can lie down comfortably.

If you don’t have an air mattress to lie down on, then you can lie in the bath tub. You might want to put down some old towels wherever you intend to lie down. Drink plenty of water before you begin and pour a fresh glass of water to keep beside you during your wrap.

Cotton sheets, a shower curtain, plastic wrap, tin foil and bandages all make excellent wrapping material’s just make sure you don’t wrap too tightly, and if you do start to feel uncomfortable loosen or remove the wrappings straight away (whilst your body wrap is drying it is quite normal to feel a little itchy when using clay or other drying ingredients)

You can make a body wrap with a variety of ingredients found in nature, and in your pantry. You can make an herbal body wrap with essential oils like lavender, lemongrass, sage or sandalwood, or herbs such as rose petals, chamomile flower powder or clay (green clay stimulates circulation and detoxifies the skin).

Following are some body wrap recipes you can use to create a relaxing spa treatment in the comfort of your home.

DIY Body Wrap Recipe 1 – Chocolate, milk and honey body wrap

What you need for the ingredients are 1 cup cocoa powder, ½ cup whole milk and 1/3 cup honey. Mix together the cocoa powder, whole milk and honey in a plastic bowl. Each of the ingredients helps soften skin for a beneficial body wrap.

Cocoa powder is filled with antioxidants. Cocoa can tone and tighten the skin. It also draws out toxins and increases circulation. It helps to slow down the appearance of aging and prevents a reduction in skin elasticity.

Cut an old sheet into 3-inch-wide strips for placing on the body.

Brush the cocoa powder mixture onto the body with the paintbrush, working your way up from the feet.

Wrap the body with the sheet strips, starting from the feet and moving up the legs, torso and arms. Allow the wrap to sit on the body for 20 minutes. Rinse in a lukewarm shower to get the mixture off the body.

DIY Body Wrap Recipe 2 – Papaya body wrap

Papaya contains enzymes that are well known for softening and revitalizing the skin. Papaya contains a natural fruit acid that works the same way as an alpha hydroxyl acid and is a great exfoliant. It will help to remove dead skin cells leaving your skin feeling smooth and soft.

To make your own papaya body wrap, you puree the pulp of a very ripe papaya until it is smooth (takes just a few seconds with a hand blender). Spread it over your body, making sure not to rub it in. Roll your body in a plastic sheet.

Lie down on some old towels and wrap these around your body too. Set a timer for 20 minutes. When your 20 minutes is up, unwrap the plastic and wash off the papaya in a warm shower. Your skin should feel invigorated immediately.

DIY Body Wrap Recipe 3 – Clay and sea salt body wrap

Clay is one of the most commonly-used body wrap ingredients. Clay is a powder that when mixed with water, works to draw toxins and impurities from your skin. The most common types of clay used for body wraps are bentonite clay, yellow kaolin clay and pink kaolin clay.

Oil absorbing properties in bentonite clay make it suitable for oily skin. In addition, bentonite clay works as an exfoliant by helping removing dead skin cells. Finally, bentonite clay functions to tighten skin pores and stimulate blood flow. Yellow and pink kaolin clays are more suitable for normal to dry skin, as these types do not have absorbent properties.

Sea salt is an exfoliating ingredient. Exfoliants function to remove dirt, debris and dead skin cells, clearing the way for new skins cells to develop. Sea salt also helps revitalize the skin by improving blood flow.

To make your own clay body wrap, you will need 1 cup of green clay, 1/4 cup of sea salt, 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 cups of water. Boil the water and sea salt together until the sea salt dissolves and then turn off the heat and add the remaining ingredients. Allow to cool and then rub the mixture all over your body. You can also use coconut oil which has skin and hair benefits!

DIY Body Wrap Recipe 4 – Sea vegetables body wrap

Powdered sea vegetables, such as kelp or dulse, absorb into your skin and function to increase blood flow, draw toxins from lymphatic glands, revitalize, smoothen and restore elasticity to your skin. In addition, sea vegetables are rich in vitamins A, B, C, E, D and K, as well as carotenes and iodine, all important for healthy skin.

To make your own sea vegetable body wrap, you will need to combine 2 cups of clay with 1 cup of kelp or dulse, 2 cups of warm water and 1 cup of sea salt. Rub these mixtures over your body and wrap yourself in a large cotton sheet to soften and pamper your skin.

DIY Body Wrap Recipe 5 – Chocolate, strawberry and papaya body wrap

The needed ingredients are 2-3 fresh strawberries, ½ ripe papaya, ½ cup cocoa powder, 1/3 cup honey, 5-6 tablespoons sweet almond oil,

Put cocoa powder, papaya, strawberry, honey, almond in a blender and blend well. After this, you can apply this to your entire body with the help of a paintbrush. Wrap your body with the cling wrap and rinse off after half an hour.
