Without Vitamin K2, the body cannot direct calcium to the bones where it’s needed; instead, the calcium resides in soft tissue (like the arteries)–leading to a combination of osteoporosis and atherosclerosis, or the dreaded “calcium paradox.””

 

In fact, research shows that in people taking either vitamin D alone or vitamin D plus vitamin K2 (as the form menaquinone-7, or MK-7), those taking the K2 had a slower progression of coronary artery calcification, which may be important for lowering your risk of heart problems.

One of the most exciting revelations about vitamin K2 is its potential role in fighting inflammation, which is at the root of many chronic diseases, including heart disease.

“Cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis are major age-related health conditions characterized by chronic inflammation. Our study may provide an additional explanation on the role of inflammation and preventing inflammation with vitamin K2 as an important mechanism of this re-emerging vitamin in sustaining health and preventing disease.

 

… We know that in Western populations, most people do not obtain enough due to modern diet. Our food is increasingly deficient in vitamin K2 in particular, and up to 98% of the general healthy population may be vitamin K2 insufficient with long-term detrimental impact on bone and cardiovascular health.”

 

In post-menopausal women, another study found that elevated intake of vitamin K2 lowered the risk of coronary heart disease — a benefit that was not associated with vitamin K1 intake.

 

Other research has shown that vitamin K2 may potentially have anti-cancer effects, with some research supporting its use for a reduced risk of liver cancer, and enhanced survival, as well as a potential protective role in lymphoma.

You can also take tablets like PABA and calcium pantothenate. The minimum daily requirement of these vitamins is 10 mg of pantothenic acid and 100 mg of para-aminobenzoic acid.

 

Another useful home remedy for grey hair is to consume butter milk mixed with one or two tablespoons of yeast and wheat gram. This will reduce the graying of hair to some extent.

 

Alternatively, you can grind a piece of ginger or extract the juice of ginger and mix it with honey and seal it tightly in a container. Just consume this mixture one tablespoon every day in the morning and you will see a considerable improvement in the hair color.

 

Fenugreek is also good for the hair. Eat the sprouts of fenugreek or apply the fenugreek paste on the hair every time before taking bath.

 

Carrot contains carotene that is one of the essential elements that influence the hair pigmentation. So, drink a glass of carrot juice every day before going to bed.

 

A mixture of lemon juice and gooseberry powder if applied on the hair for a few months will help to preserve and regain the natural black color of the hair.

  

It is also advisable to have your head massaged with natural oil every week or at least once in two weeks. This will stimulate the growth of hair follicles and prevent hair fall and the graying of the hair.

 

Apart from the diet tips and application tips, you can also create your own hair mask to control gray hair. To create this hair mask, you take half a cup of dried sage and one quarter cup of dried rosemary and boil them in 2 cups of water for 30 minutes.

 

After this, you let the solution cool down, strain it and let it stay there for between 2 to 3 hours. You can then apply this solution on your gray hair and allow it to dry before you shampoo. For the start, you do this once a week and until you see some improvement in your hair color, you can just this for once a month.
