You may wonder why use papaya for skin care? Well, because papaya contains enzymes called Papain that lightens the skin and blemishes. Papain promotes skin renewal and cell turnover. Papaya is also very good treatment for sunburn and blemishes. Papaya face mask helps to moisturize the skin. It reduces the signs of premature aging. The fruit has restorative properties which gives the skin a soft and glowing look. Papaya face mask is useful for dry, oily and normal skin.
When you have a lot of swelling or redness on your face from blemishes, try using a papaya mask. This ingredient helps to control the irritation on your face and create a soothing sensation that is great for acne prone skin. Do this once every week at night to maximize the effectiveness of the solution.
Acne home treatment can be very effective and work as good or even better, than acne products you have to pay for. The key here is persistence. Don’t expect your acne to disappear from one application of a papaya mask. Homemade treatments usually take about a week to work. But they are safe, natural and don’t cost you much.
To prepare a papaya face mask for dry skin, you mash a small section of papaya, mix it with one teaspoon of milk cream, apply on face for 15-20 minutes, then wash off. This is effective for dry skin.
Oily skin types should not rinse with milk as it adds moisture to the skin. In this case, you can make a paste of papaya pulp and add 4 teaspoons of cosmetic clay, 1 teaspoon of aloe vera gel into it. Apply the papaya face mask on cleaned face and leave it for 15 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water.
To prepare a papaya mask for acne and oily skin, you mash 2 slices of papaya and add a teaspoon of honey to it. Apply liberally all over your face. Let it dry and wash with plain water. If you want to skip honey, just mash papaya and apply. This will work too if you have oily skin.
To cure anti-aging skin, make a papaya face mask with mashed papaya, 2 tablespoons Manuka honey and ¼ cup rice flour. Apply this mask and keep it for 15-20 minutes and apply 3 times a week to get a tight skin.

Yogurt has natural cooling and refreshing qualities, and it can also be combined with other natural remedies and skin care products to promote healthy skin. Yogurt can be added to a number of other healing ingredients such as potato skin, rose water, papaya, fruit scrub, mint gel, zinc oxide or titanium dioxide.
An exfoliating papaya body scrub can be made by 1st cutting the papaya in half, and remove the seeds. Scoop out the papaya pulp and transfer to a medium bowl. Mash the fruit well with a fork until there are no lumps. Next you add 4-6 tablespoons of cornmeal (or ½ cup of white or brown sugar) and 3 tablespoons of milk (or coconut milk). You can also try this papaya body scrub which leaves the skin amazingly smooth and nourished. We do get a variety of body scrubs in the market, but this scrub made with ¼ cup of powdered oats, ¼ cup of mashed papaya and 1 tablespoon olive oil can be used by people with very sensitive skin too.
This papaya oats scrub can be used as a face pack too. If you are using it as a face pack, grind the oats very finely into a powder. To use it as a body scrub, the oats can be ground a bit coarsely. Then add the papaya and extra virgin olive oil and grind everything together, till it mixes into a homogeneous mixture.
Oats are slightly rough and they tend to act as super exfoliants. Oats make your skin super smooth and silky. Oats help in deeply moisturizing your skin and helps fight against premature ageing. They soothe mild burns or any type of dryness and itching.
I always love to use extra virgin olive oil because I think cold pressed oils retain the maximum nutrients. To use it as a body scrub, just scoop out a big tablespoon of the ground mixture and scrub it all over the body and wash it off. Because we use olive oil, the skin feels smooth after the scrub. To use it as a pack, apply it over the face, wait for it to dry. Once dry, wash it off. People with oily skin can skip the olive oil.
The benefits of papaya for skin care are endless. So, use papaya on your face and body and see the change in your complexion after few weeks. As it is a natural skin care remedy, the result will not be immediate but if used properly, the results will be permanent.
