Basil is a common name for the culinary herb Ocimum basilicum of the family Lamiaceae. It is usually added to improve the taste of your food especially when you are having a soup of beef, pork, chicken or fish. As basil is both Aromatic and carminative, it is used for mild nervous disorders and even for the alleviation of fibromyalgia (widespread body pains in the joints, muscles, tendons, and other soft tissues).  It is said the dried leaves, used as a snuff, can cure nervous headaches.

 

Basil leaves are among the most effective natural treatments for warts. You can get fresh basil leaves and rub them directly in the nub. Afterwards, cover the area with a bandage. It is recommended you do this application every day.

You may also prepare basil face mask. Take some fresh basil leaves and put them in a food processor. Mix the chopped mush of basil leaves with egg white and sea salt. Rub the mixture on to your face gently. Leave the mask for around five minutes and rinse.
