This scrub uses carrier oil of your choice to moisturize your hands. The lemon juice is added for fresh scent and to slowly lighten the skin over time, and the brown sugar naturally exfoliates the skin.

You will need 3 tablespoons carrier oil (such as apricot kernel oil, olive oil, jojoba oil, or almond oil), 1 tablespoon lemon juice and1/4 cup brown sugar. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl. The texture should be moist enough to hold together, but not overly oily. You can adjust the amounts of the oil and sugar to achieve this texture.

Rinse your hands with plenty of hot water to loosen up the dirt on the hands and skin. Then take the mixture and rub it into your hands for about 5 minutes. You can leave it on your hands for another few minutes to let your hands soak up the oil to get extra moisture. Then rinse off and dry.

Bananas are soothing and moisturizing which are rich in vitamins B and C and full of potassium that fights dry skin. Honey is a natural humectant that attracts and retains moisture. It heals and softens skin. Avocados are known for being a healthy fat. Those healthy fats translate into a natural moisturizer for your skin and it’s even said to help people who suffer from eczema.

You will need 1 ripe banana, 1 ripe avocado, 2 tablespoons of almond oil, 1 teaspoon of manuka honey and 2-3 drops of lavender oil. Mix these ingredients in a blender to make a thick paste which you can apply on your hand. Let it stay for 30 minutes before you rinse off. Use this homemade hand scrub on every alternate day to get smooth and soft hands.
