Spices can also speed up the burning of fat in your body by triggering the nervous system to produce adrenaline and other hormones. Spices also offer another way to block fat from absorption into the intestines.


Here are some spices for easy weight loss to help you shred those extra pounds quickly, safely and naturally.




Cardamom is a flavourful and aromatic spice that is used as a key ingredient in many dishes and is also well known for its health benefits. This spice is found in abundance in India and Sri Lanka and belongs to the same family as ginger and cloves.


The fiber content in cardamom can help you to lose weight by increasing your sense of satisfaction after a meal and can help you to lower your cholesterol level.


A two-tablespoon serving of ground cardamom offers 3.2 grams of dietary fiber. This contributes 8% towards the daily fiber needs for men and 13% for women.


Cayenne Pepper


Do you know that cayenne pepper can increase your metabolism rate by a whopping 25%? Cayenne pepper contains capsaicin, which jump starts the metabolism shortly after a person consumes foods seasoned with the spice.


Capsaicin also helps to decrease the appetite, reducing the cravings for sugar or unhealthy carbohydrates that lead to weight gain. Cayenne pepper aids the digestive system as well, making it easy for the body to process foods, and can alleviate gas and bloating.
To help in your own weight control self-help program, you can take half teaspoon of cayenne pepper, juice from 1 lemon and a glass of hot water. You mix them together and drink. This isn’t going to taste nice and needs time for you to get used to it. But you sure can make it taste better by adding in some raw organic honey after letting it cool down. Always add honey to the cooled liquid because hot liquid will destroy the enzymes in raw honey.

Cumin also improves the digestive process which results in better assimilation and absorption of nutrients by the body. This prevents the storage of fat by the body and results in weight loss.




This is my favourite! Ginger boosts the body’s metabolism, making it easier to burn calories and fat at a quicker rate. Adding ginger to foods like baked chicken or tofu, or using sliced ginger in tea is also ideal if you’ve included weight lifting in your exercise and weight loss plan, as the seasoning aids muscle cells in utilizing oxygen.


In addition to helping the body shed weight, ginger helps relieve nausea and dizziness and pregnant women can eat foods with ginger to reduce morning sickness
