Start with lukewarm water and add a mixture of one cup of milk, two cups of raw, uncooked oatmeal and one tablespoon of honey. Soaking for about 10 minutes will soothe the skin and replace some of the lost natural moisture.


Another useful bath for sunburn relief is baking soda – about two cups. Baking soda or oatmeal baths are also good natural skin care remedies for dry skin, acne, eczema and just about any other skin problem.


Potatoes can also be used to relieve the pain of sunburn. Take 2 potatoes and wash them well. Cut them into tiny chunks and place in a blender to liquefy. (If the result appears too dry, add some water). Pat the affected areas with potato juice. Wait until dry, and then rinse off in a cool shower or bath.


An effective home remedy for sunburn is to apply the paste of four tablespoon of buttermilk and two tablespoon of tomato juice for half an hour, and then wash it off.


Similarly, paste of turmeric, barley and yoghurt in equal proportions also gives immense relief when applied on the sunburn area.


Intake of juice of raw mango along with salt and sugar is very effective in combating sunburn, and is highly recommended at least thrice a day.

Deep a cotton wool in cold whole milk and apply on the burnt skin.


Make a cup of tea and add ice cubs to cool the tea. When cold enough apply the tea on the skin with cotton pads.


After your skin is burnt from the sun you should apply apple cider vinegar on the skin.


Slice an onion, lemon or cucumber, apply the liquid on the burnt skin and wash off after 20 minutes.


Put ice cubes in a cloth and tap the skin softly.


Smear aloe vera on the skin to relief the burning sensation.


Slice a cucumber or tomato, apply on the burnt skin and wash off after 20 minutes.


Mix raw organic honey and egg white, apply on the tanned area and wash off after 20 minutes.


Make a lukewarm bath, add oatmeal and get in for a few minutes to relax the skin.


Apply lavender oil on the burnt skin to help it heal faster.
