Sex warning: Both Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes sufferers could experience sexual dysfunction from uncontrolled symptoms

Diabetes is one of the fastest growing health conditions in many parts of the world, and affects one in every 16 people.

If left untreated or poorly managed it could lead to a number of complications.

These commonly include heart disease, stroke, nerve damage, foot problems and diabetic retinopathy, according to the NHS.

However, there is a lesser-known side-effect of diabetes – sexual dysfunction. This may include a reduced sex drive – or loss of libido – and less pleasure from sex compared to normal.

Sex warning: Over half on men with diabetes may experience issues such as erectile dysfunction

Men with diabetes may have difficulty getting or maintaining an erection during sex – also known as erectile dysfunction

This is where you are prevented from wanting or enjoying sexual activity, and it commonly affects diabetes sufferers.

According to Diabetes UK, it’s because the conditions causes reduced blood flow and loss of sensation in the sexual organs.

Male sufferers may experience problems getting and maintaining an erection, also known as erectile dysfunction.

This is particularly in those who smoke and have nerve or blood vessel damage.

People should be aware signs and symptoms of diabetes are not always obvious and the condition is often diagnosed during GP check-ups.

Sex warning: Up to 25% of women with diabetes may experience vaginal dryness or loss of libido

For some women with diabetes, vaginitis (inflammation of the vagina) can be recurrent.

Vaginitis can be brought on by a number of different ways including bacterial imbalance of the vagina (bacterial vaginitis) yeast infections (thrush) or from chemical irritation, such as from soaps or fabric conditioners.

This can make sex painful, and is heralded by itching or burning sensations.

Cystitis can also be a recurrent problem for women with diabetes. Cystitis happens when bacteria outside the body enter the urinary tract through the urethra and begin to multiply in the bladder.

High levels of sugar in your urine can provide a good environment for bacteria to multiply, so any bacteria that get into the bladder are more likely to cause cystitis.

Cystitis is much more common in women than men, probably because the anus (back passage) is closer to the urethra in women and the urethra is much shorter.

Sexual problems can be disheartening but they needn’t take all the pleasure out of your sex life.

Loss of sensation

Diabetes can affect our nerves, in the form of neuropathy, and loss of sensation in the penis, clitoris and vagina is possible as well.

Trying out different positions may help to find positions which enhance sensation and therefore make reaching orgasm easier.

Oral sex

Oral sex can be pleasurable to give or receive whether climax is involved or not. Oral sex can be a good option if you’re having unexpected difficulties and can also keep your sex life alive and kicking when sexual dysfunction is a longer term issue.

When climax is unobtainable

Climax may not always be possible for one reason or another. Reasons for having difficulty reaching climax include having loss of sensitivity, psychological issues and having low blood sugar. As we age, we may find it harder to reach climax.

If an orgasm seems unobtainable, switch the focus of your love making either onto pleasuring your partner or in building an intimate sensual bond.

If you can have penetrative sex but cannot orgasm, positions which maximise body to body contact, eye contact and kissing can be sensual and fulfilling without necessarily requiring climax.

How to Make a Love Potion that Really Works in Getting the Spark Back in Sex?

How to Make a Love Potion that Really Works in Getting the Spark Back in Sex? Getting the spark back in sex can not only improve your relationship and lift your mood, it’s been shown to lower blood pressure, boost immunity, improve heart health, and lead you to a longer life. Read on here to find out how you can make a love potion that really works in getting the spark back in sex.

Shrouded in mystery and steeped in legend, love potions have been scattered throughout human history for centuries. But in modern times, just as many remedies have been disproved and tossed aside, we’ve learned that there is merit to some.

It turns there are odors that can work wonders upon the human mind and body when it comes to getting the spark back in sex, and certain herbs that can help things like blood flow, therefore helping arousal.

Sadly with our busy, stressful, lives it can be more than difficult to engage in passionate activities, but keeping up a healthy sex life should always be on the docket.

Getting the spark back in sex can not only improve your relationship and lift your mood, it’s been shown to lower blood pressure, boost immunity, improve heart health, and lead you to a longer life.

So the next time you find yourself lacking in the passion department, brew up this “love potion” and get ready for a merry time.

Why Jasmine: It’s distinct, sweet, odor induces euphoria in both men and women, and has been used to spark passion for, quite literally, centuries.

Why Rose: We all know women tend to think too much – we’re just not as straightforward as guys when it comes to this stuff. The sensual smell of rose can lower arousal blocking anxiety, which can spike when it comes to sex.

Why Vanilla: There is an old Mexican legend about a fertility goddess who could not marry the mortal man she loved. Instead of becoming bitter, she transformed herself into the vanilla plant to give happiness and pleasure to all lovers.

Its warm scent (and taste) is welcoming, subtly sensual, and relaxing-and we all know that relaxation is a must when it comes to truly enjoying sex.

Why Cinnamon: The cinnamon creates a fine balance with the more soothing scents of rose, jasmine, and vanilla. While those help relax you, the cinnamon ensures that you still get a burst of fiery passion and energy.

If you indulge in cinnamon regularly, it can increase sex drive over time. It works so well because it can lower high blood sugar, which restricts blood flow down south for both men and women.

You will need…

-2 teaspoons of dried jasmine flowers
-1 tablespoon of dried rose petals
-Vanilla pod split, or ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
-1-2 cinnamon sticks
-1 cup of fresh water
-A pot or sauce pan
-A strainer

Directions

Pour 1 cup of fresh water into a saucepan. You can add more or less, with the former resulting in a stronger ‘potion’ and the latter a weaker tasting one.

Add to the water 2 teaspoons of dried jasmine flowers, 1 tablespoon of dried rose petals, a vanilla pod split lengthwise or ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1-2 cinnamon sticks. Give the mixture a little stir to incorporate everything, and then simmer for 3-5 minutes.

Remove from heat and strain immediately. Allow this to cool and then bottle it. Add sparkling water and serve chilled on a hot day, or pour into mugs and reheat, sipping slowly. You can also use it fresh. In the fridge it will keep for a week in tightly lidded container.

Passion makes the world go round, but even the best of lovers can find themselves needing something for getting the spark back in sex. If you find yourself a bit “stuck”, the arousing, sensual smells and the little kick of cinnamon spice in this love potion will have the passion brewing in no time.

Which is Really Best Sex Position for Painful Back?

Which is Really Best Sex Position for Painful Back? If you want to have a happy sex life, read on here to discover which is the best sex position for painful back.
Click HERE To Find Out More about the Ease Back

Many people with back pain avoid having sex for fear that it will cost them weeks or months of pain. In one study, 64 percent of those with chronic low back pain said sexual intercourse worsened their pain, while separate research showed up to 84 percent of men with low back pain have a reduction in sexual frequency as a result.

For others, you may restrict yourself to ‘spooning’ (or side-lying), which is widely said to be the best position for those with a bad back. It turns out, however, that there’s no ‘one-size-fits-all’ position for making love if you have back pain. Instead, the best position for you depends on what type of back pain you have (where it is and what triggers it).

And, contrary to popular belief, spooning may be far from the best sex position for painful back after all, according to a new study that actually tracked how 10 couples’ spines moved during five common sex positions.

So far, only recommendations for men have been released (female findings are expected to be published in the next few months), but the study set forth new ‘guidelines’ for men who are flexion-intolerant (such as if you have back pain when you touch your toes or sit for long periods).

Quadruped Position is the Best Sex Position for Painful Back!

For flexion-intolerant back pain, the ‘quadruped’ position (rear-entry, in which the female is in the quadruped position and the male is kneeling behind her, better known as ‘doggy-style’) is advised instead of spooning, and it’s recommended that men use a “hip-hinging motion instead of thrusting with their spines.”

The next best sex position for painful back was missionary 1 position – but not missionary 2. What’s the difference?

In missionary 1, the male is supporting his upper body with his hands and the female is minimally flexed at the hips and knees.

In missionary 2, which is not recommended, the male is supporting his upper body with his elbows and the female is flexed at the hips and knees.

As the researchers noted:

“[This] seemingly subtle change in posture … altered the spine kinematic profile significantly.”

Subtle changes in your partner’s posture can also have a significant impact on your pain, “which suggests that the partner may be an integral factor in the intervention.”

In other words, one of the best ways to have an enjoyable sex life even if you have back pain is to discuss it with your partner. It’s not only those with back pain who are affected, either, as their partners may fear hurting them during sex. Together you can experiment to find positions that are pain-free and enjoyable for you both.

Another option that will come in handy… um, very handy … is the Back Ease, a spinal decompression device clinically proven to treat a wide range of chronic back problems.

One thing that makes is so handy is that, for many, the back pain starts after sex – sometimes minutes later and sometimes days later.

When this happens, you can hop on the Back Ease for quick relief.

I’ve personally seen people hardly able to walk up to the Back Ease use it for just a few minutes and stand up feeling 90-100% relief from their back pain.

(I’ll leave it up to YOUR imagination to see other ways this exceptional back-saving device could be handy in regards to comfortable sex with back pain!)

Plus, because of what happens as your spine decompresses (nutrient-rich fluids are “sucked” into your discs, re-cushioning your discs with extra water, and relieving the pressure caused by gravity) … your back pain naturally fades away into the background … leaving you more energetichappier and free to do the things you want to do, not what your back allows you to do, which is a definite bonus for your sex life.

How to Minimize Back Pain During Sex?

How to Minimize Back Pain During Sex? Contrary to what you may believe, back pain doesn’t mean the end of your sex life. It means you and your partner will have to adjust to your new reality—temporarily or permanently—to keep the pain at a minimum. Here are some positions to minimize back pain during sex
Click HERE To Find Out How You Can Get Rid of Back Pain In Less Than 30 Days

If you’ve ever had back pain you know that it’s difficult to perform non-strenuous activities like walking and sitting, so more vigorous activities such as sex often have to take a back seat until the pain subsides.

This can place unnecessary pressure on a relationship as intimacy takes a backseat to pain. You should not feel alone however, as more than 30 million people are suffering from back pain.

The problem with back pain in sex is that the pain can go away for hours or days and you never know when the pain will return. This can put you in a fearful state of mind, constantly worrying about re-injuring your back or causing injury to your partner. The fear of pain can also take the spontaneous nature of sex out of the equation altogether, causing tension between you and your partner.

Before you let back pain dictate your sex life, make sure you get a diagnosis from a physician. An accurate diagnosis will let you know what’s causing your back pain, but it will also let you know what is possible with your current physical limitations.

Contrary to what you may believe, back pain doesn’t mean the end of your sex life. It means you and your partner will have to adjust to your new reality—temporarily or permanently—to keep the pain at a minimum.

After your diagnosis don’t be afraid to speak with your physical therapist about what movements you can and cannot perform in the bedroom. Set aside your embarrassment and you’ll ease your fear about worsening the back pain.

Make this discussion easier by making sure your partner is in the examination room with you so both of you can be fully informed about what is and is not okay.

Before you engage in sex you want to make sure you, as the injured party, are as relaxed as possible. This may mean beginning with a sensual massage or a hot bath or shower to relax back muscles. Once the muscles are relaxed you can get into the mood, leaving fear as a distant memory.

Try These Positions Tonight to Minimize Back Pain

Enjoy a painless sexual encounter by giving the positions below a try:

For men:

Try having sex while lying on your side, facing each other or prepared for entry from behind.

Place a back pillow under your lower back for woman on top position.

You can have sex on a chair with a sturdy back, in the sitting position.

For women:

Missionary position with knees bent toward chest instead of facing to the left and right.

You can straddle your partner on a chair.

Position yourself on hands and knees for rear entry, or place a cylinder pillow under your chest with back arched.

Your best bet is to try different positions to maximize pleasure while minimizing back pain. You may have to continuously adjust your lovemaking positions as your recovery progresses or digresses.

But avoid getting too boisterous because you have been pain-free for a few days, as you can cause back pain to return or worsen.

Physical vs. Mental Pain

There are two important aspects to back pain: physical and mental. The physical pain is what we most identify with because it is what most inhibits us in our everyday lives. The physical pain manifests itself in limited movements, but it is also what causes the mental aspect of back pain.

The mental part of back pain can be far more damaging to your recovery and your relationship. The feelings you have of inadequacy and not feeling “whole” because of your limitations can make matters worse for you and your partner.

As your worry increases about the pain getting worse and your sex life deteriorating further can make you terrified of having sex until you are completely free of back pain.

Your misconceptions about how your partner perceives you can cause you to act too cautious when it comes to activity in the bedroom.

The best thing you can do to overcome this is to be open and honest with your partner about what he or she can expect during sex. Let him or her know what you can and cannot do in terms of positions and map out a plan that allows you both to enjoy sex without aggravating your back pain.

One thing you should remember is that exercise is great for back pain and sex is excellent exercise. The longer you put it off the more difficult it will be to overcome.

Approach sex as exercise and figure out what positions hurt the least and what positions feel the best. Only by working with your partner can you figure this out and get your sex life back on track.

Start slowly with basic positions that don’t require a lot of jerky movements and do your best to take note of what positions cause pain and where the pain is located.

Use your imagination to come up with new positions to minimize back pain that lets you both enjoy sexual encounters without doing further damage to your back.

Back pain doesn’t require you to say “goodbye” to your sex life, it just means you’ll have to get reacquainted with imaginative sex.

5 DIY Chocolate Spa Recipes for a Romantic Rendezvous - Here are the 5 DIY chocolate spa recipes that you can try making at home to make your skin soft, glowing and beautiful
Click HERE to discover the secrets of glowing skin

To have a romantic time at home, convert your bedroom or bathroom into a lovebird den by choosing the best spa products, the right music, appropriate lighting, and foods that appeal to your senses.

The various items needed for home spa treatments include clean towels, massage oil, scented candles, salt scrub, and others. For food, you can choose dark chocolate, dessert wine, fresh fruit like grapes, and some of your favorite snacks that help release happy hormones in your body.

You can also make homemade facial cleansers and provide a lovely cleansing session to your spouse. Pampering yourself at least once a month can relieve your stress and rejuvenate your body inside out. So why not indulge your equally stress-relieving sweet tooth at the same time by having a chocolate spa treatment?

There are several spas and hotels nationwide that offer different spa treatments using chocolate as the main ingredient and theme. However, if you are on a budget and cannot afford to travel to the nearest chocolate spa, there are several homemade recipes you can use for your own chocolate spa treatment right in the privacy of your home.

Here are some of my favourite DIY chocolate spa recipes which you can use at the comfort of your home to pamper your body and your spouse’s.

DIY Chocolate Spa Recipe 1

What you need is 3 tablespoons granulated sugar, 1 ounce honey, 1/2 cup conventional cocoa powder and 1 ounce vanilla extract.

Stir the sugar with 2 tablespoons of honey to create a uniform mixture. Spread the mixture throughout the body in rhythmic circular upward movements emphasizing on knees, elbows and soles. Rinse off with water.

Stir the chocolate, vanilla and the remaining honey to create a homogenous mixture. Apply mask all over the body and let stand 10 to 15 minutes. Remove with water.

DIY Chocolate Spa Recipe 2

Combine 4 tablespoons ground coffee with equal amount of cocoa powder. Add 8 tablespoon whole milk to the mixture. Stir until you have a smooth paste.

With fingers or a make-up wedge, spread the mixture over face and neck. You may also apply the mixture to other areas of the body where extra softness is needed.

Leave the mixture on for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Pat your body dry.

DIY Chocolate Spa Recipe 3

Take a handful of cocoa butter and warm it until it melts, but don’t overheat it. Mix the cocoa butter with ¾ cup of white sugar and ¼ cup of dark brown sugar to form a paste. You can then start scrubbing by spreading this paste over your body.

DIY Chocolate Spa Recipe 4

You will need 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder, 1 tablespoon of raw organic honey (or manuka honey) and ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract.  Combine the honey, cocoa powder and vanilla extract in a bowl and mix well. Then you add 1-2 teaspoons of extra virgin olive oil into the bowl, and stir the contents in the bowl to form a paste. If the paste is too thick, you can add a little bit more olive oil.

This step is optional. If you want, you can add 1 teaspoon of sweet almond oil to add an extra moisturizer to the chocolate body scrub. Lastly, you can either add 3 drops of lavender oil to make a chocolate lavender scrub or add 3 drop of essential orange oil to make a chocolate orange scrub.

You wet the parts of your body you want to exfoliate with the scrub. Hands, elbows and feet all benefit from a cocoa scrub because the skin on these areas is often dry. Gently rub the scrub onto the area using a circular motion. Rinse the area with warm water.

DIY Chocolate Spa Recipe 5

You will need ½ cup of cocoa powder, 6 tablespoons of whole cream milk, 3 tablespoons of raw organic honey (or manuka honey), 3 tablespoons of ground oatmeal, and 2 tablespoons of ground almonds, 3 drops of sweet almond oil and 3 drops of lavender oil.

You mix cocoa powder, milk, honey, oatmeal and ground almonds to form a paste and then you add in sweet almond and lastly lavender oil. You can now start scrubbing, applying the paste on your face, neck and body. Keep it there for 15 minutes before you rinse off.
