Successful people run the gamut from self-made millionaires to Nobel Prize winners. But virtually all of them share (at least) one common habit: a stellar morning routine. What is it about the first few hours of the day that make them so powerful?

They set the tone for the rest of your day, which means what you do in the morning can make or break the hours that follow (which make up the bulk of your waking life).

Not to mention, just having a morning routine sets you leaps and bounds ahead of the guy who just rolled out of bed, splashed water on his face and barely made it to work on time.

If you are currently “that guy” (or lady), no worries! Everyone can establish a morning routine; there’s nothing complicated about it. Simply set your mind to it, set your alarm and you’re off. Now, on to some excellent ideas to make your morning routine count.

7 Ways Healthy People Start Their Day

1. Wake Up Early (And at the Same Time)

Getting up at the same time each day helps regulate your body clock, making it easier to wake up and helping with energy levels in the long run (it’s a good idea to go to bed at the same time each day too). Getting up early helps you carve out time for you, and it’s a secret shared by many successful and healthy people.

According to Forbes:

“Margaret Thatcher was up every day at 5 a.m.; Frank Lloyd Wright at 4 a.m. and Robert Iger, the CEO of Disney wakes at 4:30 a.m. just to name a few.”

2. Meditate

Five to 15 minutes of meditation in the morning quiets your mind, keeps you in the moment and hones your inner focus. Over the long run, meditating each morning may boost your creativity and productivity while reducing stress and anxiety. As a bonus, you can do this first thing, before even getting out of bed (take advantage of that quasi-awake state!).

3. Get Outdoors

Exposure to bright light in the morning helps you wake up and synchronizes your body clock for the new day. Such exposures may also boost your mood and even play a role in reducing appetite and body weight. If weather prevents you from going outdoors (or it’s still dark when you wake up), a light therapy box can be used.

4. Feed Your Passions

What do you love to do? What makes you happy? Take some time, even 20 minutes, to focus on those ‘indulgent’ activities you’d otherwise push aside. For instance, you might read, work on crafts, build your model train, take your dog for a walk, etc.

5. Feed Your Body

First, drink a glass of water (some like to drink it warm with some lemon) to rehydrate. Next, power up your body for the day.

A healthy breakfast might include a smoothie (homemade, with ingredients like kefir, frozen berries, spinach, whey protein, avocado and flaxseeds) or eggs with vegetables.

6. Get Motivated

What is it you want to accomplish today? How do you want your day to go? Visualizing it will help make it a reality. You may also want to spend a few minutes thinking or journaling about what you’re grateful for (some people like to make a list of three things each day).

Other options: read an inspirational book, watch an inspirational video or write down a mantra for the day (and put it somewhere you’ll see often).

7. Exercise

When you get up early, you can get your workout in and out of the way before most people even wake up.

As “Shark Tank” investor Kevin O’Leary told Business Insider:

“Your health is one investment that is guaranteed to pay dividends!”

You don’t have to go to the gym to do this either. You can find countless bodyweight workout routines online (or make up your own using a combination of push-ups, burpees, mountain climbers and the like).

I also like to do the 4-minute No Excuses program (yes, it’s only 4 minutes!) first thing after I wake up.

After your morning routine is complete, tackle the most mentally challenging task you have to do that day. Many healthy people are most productive and alert in the morning, meaning you’ll knock it out that much easier. Plus, once you get the ‘hard stuff’ out of the way, you’ll feel a weight has been lifted from your shoulders for the rest of your day.

Over 105 Home Remedies for Almost Any Illness Using Natural Ingredients

Seems like not a day goes by when we find out something we love is “horrible” for us. But here’s a bit of a reprieve …

You probably think the healthy living tips that are listed below fall into that “off limits” category, yet studies show they can actually be quite good for health in their own right.

Moderation is, of course, key in all things, so we’re not saying you should throw caution to the wind entirely — just that, sometimes, what’s “bad” turns out to be good…

  1. Daydreaming

Your teachers scolded you as a child, but it turns out daydreamers aren’t the lazy procrastinators they’re pegged as. When you daydream, your brain is actually very active, and that includes the brain region known as the “executive network,” which is associated with high-level thinking and complex problem-solving.

Letting your mind wander may be nature’s way of helping you work through difficult issues in your life; studies show it also boosts creativity and helps you think abstractly, which may be useful for improving your empathy and social relationships.

  1. Eating Chocolate

It’s ok to indulge in a bit of chocolate — particularly if it is dark chocolate which is good for health. The humble cocoa bean contains potent antioxidants that are quite good for your heart.

One recent study even found that those who ate the most chocolate had a 37% reduction in heart disease and a 29% reduction in stroke compared to those who ate the lowest levels. As a general rule, the darker (and more bitter) the chocolate, the healthier it is.

  1. Eating Fat

Many types of fat are actually good for health. You’re probably familiar with heart-healthy monounsaturated fats in foods like olive oil, nuts and avocado, but there are also omega-3 fats, found in fish and fish oil, which are also beneficial for your heart, your brain, cancer and much more.

But did you know a recent study from the Netherlands found that eating saturated fats is not associated with heart disease? Instead, they found that cutting saturated fats from your diet and replacing them with carbohydrates actually increases heart disease risk!

Another study found that supplementing your diet with coconut oil (rich in saturated fat) helps to reduce abdominal obesity.

So if you’re looking to lose weight, cutting fat from your diet is probably not the answer. Cutting unhealthy carbs (like sugar) and exercise will often do the trick, and you can also try a spritz of ThinMist under your tongue before each meal.

It enters your bloodstream in just 23 seconds, flooding your body with critical minerals… amino acids… and natural, bio-identical hormones that work synergistically to help BURN FAT more efficiently. It essentially kicks your metabolism into high gear all day long, and best of all, because it’s a 100% natural formula, you won’t experience any harmful side effects!

  1. Drinking Alcohol

Light to moderate alcohol consumption has been linked to lower rates of heart disease, diabetes, cancer and cognitive decline. Red wine, which is rich in antioxidants, is often touted as the “healthiest” type of alcohol, but even beer has been linked to these benefits.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture even said that moderate drinking may save 26,000 lives a year due to these benefits!

What is moderate drinking? No more than 2 drinks a day for men and 1 a day for women. If you have an alcohol addiction, of course, it’s best to abstain regardless.

  1. Getting Angry

Getting angry actually has psychological benefits when channelled appropriately. For starters, anger can motivate you to take action when it’s necessary (such as standing up for a good cause) and it can help you communicate in your personal relationships.

Hiding your anger in a relationship can be detrimental and may hinder your ability to solve problems or lead to a bigger blow-up in the future.

Many also find that getting angry allows for self-reflection, including insights into your own faults, which can prompt positive change. So letting your anger out, responsibly and appropriately, can indeed be a very good thing.

  1. Being Out in the Sun

If you’re still shunning the sun for fear of skin cancer, you should know that many experts are now advising sensible sun exposure on a daily basis.

When the sun hits your bare skin (i.e. without sunscreen), your body produces vitamin D, optimal levels of which can reduce your risk of cancer, heart disease, depression, obesity, Alzheimer’s disease, rheumatoid arthritis and much more.

Many Americans are dangerously deficient in vitamin D, so some safe sun exposure would be beneficial (as long as you don’t get burned).

  1. Eating Meat

Eating meat in moderation can be beneficial. It’s one of the best sources of protein, as it contains all of the essential amino acids, and it’s also an excellent source of iron, zinc and beneficial B vitamins.

Interestingly, even red meat like beef can be healthy, as half of the fatty acids it contains are monounsaturated (the same type as in heart-healthy olive oil).

And if you opt for grass-fed beef, it will also be a rich source of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), which may help prevent cancer. Ideally, your meat should be grass-fed, organic and from a sustainably farmed source.

  1. Grilling

Grilling foods can create the formation of cancer-causing chemicals called HCA’s (heterocyclic amines). But, marinating meats for at least several hours beforehand in liquid mixtures that contain rosemary and other herbs/spices before grilling can dramatically help to reduce HCAs. It appears that the highly potent antioxidants in these herbs prevent HCA formation.

  1. Drinking Coffee

Coffee has antioxidant properties and drinking a few cups a day has been linked to health advantages ranging from a lower risk of type 2 diabetes, colon cancer, and gallstones to improved cognitive function.

If you’re going to drink coffee, dark roast appears to be the best, offering superior improvements in antioxidant levels and even helping people to lose weight, compared to lighter roasts.

  1. Playing Video Games

Video games do offer players some unique benefits, including greater dexterity, more acute eyesight, faster reflexes, quicker decision-making (without sacrificing accuracy), and even improvements in memory and creativity.

One recent study even found that specially designed video games (such as one based on killing cancer cells in your body, designed for cancer patients) can boost positive motivation, leading to improvements in health and behavior.

  1. Taking Naps

Does your spouse ever nag you for taking an afternoon siesta? Have you been caught snoozing on the job?

It’s a shame that napping is so frowned upon in the United States (it’s actually common in other areas, like the Mediterranean), as not only do naps lower your risk of dying from heart disease and stroke, but they’ve also been found to improve creating thinking, memory and learning.

For best results, keep your naps short, from a few minutes up to a half hour (too much longer and it might make you groggy).

And if you’re not sleeping at night, make sure you’re doing that also, as it is the key to your vim and vigor. Before resorting to sleeping pills, though, check out the natural ingredients melatonin, passion flower, lemon balm and more, found in Sleepzyme.

Are you looking for safe ways to permanently clear chronic nose congestion caused by nasal polyps?

What Is Nasal Polyps Surgery?

Nasal polyps surgery is the procedure during which nasal polyps (which can occur in the nasal passages or in the sinuses) are removed. Generally, surgery will be recommended if steroid therapy is not successfully or cannot be sustained in the long term, often due to safety concerns of using too much steroids.

There are two main types of nasal polyps surgery – nasal polypectomy and functional endoscopic sinus surgery. Persons with poorly managed asthma, as well as those with coronary disease or having irregular bleeding are not eligible for nasal polyps surgery.

Prior to surgery, the patient will be required to undergo tests such as nasal endoscopies, CT scans or X-ray scans. If the patient has any underlying conditions, further tests will be required, as some conditions can complicate the procedure.

In addition, the patient is made aware that surgery may not meet expectations, especially with regards to the fact that 75% of patients undergoing surgery will experience re-growth of nasal polyps.

Even with the removal of some nasal bone, polyps re-occurrence is still likely. As such, ongoing treatment may be required following surgery. In addition, surgery may not restore the sense of smell, which may be lost completely in patients with very large or very numerous polyps.

Furthermore, there are risks involved according to the placement of the polyps. For example, for nasal polyps high up in the sinuses, surgery may damage the optic nerve, leading to vision loss. Surgery can also cause scar tissue to form, which can be very uncomfortable in the nasal region.

Nasal Polypectomy is the most common type of nasal polyps surgery and it can be done using just a local aesthetic. This procedure is the one of choice for small nasal polyps that are close to the nostril entrance.

The surgeon will hold the nose open with an instrument called a nasal speculum and then cut the polyps out using a special type of forceps. A suction device may be used to extract the polyp.

On the other hand, functional endoscopic sinus surgery is used for polyps that are not easily reached, such as those growing deep in the sinuses. A local or general anaesthetic will be used.

In this procedure, an endoscope (a tube with a camera) is used to provide the surgeon better view of the area around the polyps. Then, small cuts in the face will be done and the surgeon cuts out the polyps through these incisions.

Unfortunately, both types of surgical procedures are associated with a number of complications, and neither type can permanently clear chronic nose congestion caused by nasal polyps. This is because the underlying cause is not tackled.

You can watch a Video HERE to understand more about nasal polyps surgery.

A safe solution to permanently clear chronic nose congestion caused by nasal polyps should be one that is holistic and also seeks to tackle the underlying causes of nasal polyps, and not only the symptoms.

Curing Candida Yeast Infection: Desensitization (EPD) For Candida

Learn more from HERE on how to get rid of candida yeast infection

One of the options for curing candida yeast infection is by using a method called immunotherapy. Under this treatment method for curing yeast infection patients are told to avoid consuming all kinds of food that are thought to promote yeast infection such as those that are high in carbohydrates and sugar. Anti-allergic medication in the form of oral drops or injection are also been prescribed for strengthening the body’s immunity system and reducing the allergic reaction.
The method is also called Enzyme Potentiated Desensitization (EPD). This is actually a treatment for allergies developed in the mid-1960s by Len McEwen, M.D. (London). The newest form of this treatment is called Low Dose Allergens or LDA.

Under this method of treatment the patients are given up to three injections every two months for duration of up to two years, depending on the patients’ response to the therapy. The enzymes in the vaccine are supposed to enhance the candida infection strength and may treat several other groups of allergens along the way.

The EPD treatment for candida yeast infection goes like this:

About 10 days before a patient gets the first injection, he/she is been given Sporanox, which is an anti-fungal for systematic candida, and De-Nol an anti-gastric ulcer agent that prevents the candida from getting entrenched in the mucus linings of the intestinal tract.

For about 3 days before receiving the injection, the patient has to abstain from the consumption of all food allergens. At the same time he/she has to take supplements (which include Zinc, Folic acid and Vitamin D3) for the purpose of improving the effectiveness of the EPD treatment.

The response to EPD treatment for candida yeast infection varies from one person to another. Some respond favorably to the treatment showing sudden and dramatic improvement which however does not last while others need heavier dosage as well as longer treatment duration until improvement is maintained.

Either way, EPD is not a permanent solution for candida. This is because EPD is not a total approach to curing candida yeast infection. It only addresses one aspect of the yeast infection by focusing only on the dietary and allergy reaction factor that trigger candida overgrowth. Due to this reason, EPD’s effects wear off in time. EPD will not even work if you have serious gut problems, bacterial infections, parasites or systematic candida.

The only effective way for curing candida yeast infection is by addressing all candida-contributing factors though the holistic approach, not just the dietary or allergy triggering factors. It is only by fixing the underlying or root cause of candida overgrowth that all candida related symptoms will be gone permanently along with the feeling of increased energy, improved vision, health and well-being.

This article is based on the book, “Yeast Infection No More” by Linda Allen. Linda is an author, researcher, nutritionist and health consultant who dedicated her life to creating the ultimate holistic yeast infection solution guaranteed to permanently cure the root of candida and dramatically improve the overall quality of your life, naturally, without the use prescription medication and without any side effects.
