At times probably due to stress, a man can have problem in achieving and maintaining an erection. However, this can happen more often as a man gets older. But this does not necessary have to be a normal part of aging process and can be avoidable.

Here are ways to avoid erectile dysfunction (ED):

(1)   Proper diet

Any food that is bad for the heart will eventually affect the ability to have erections. An unbalanced diet with too few fruits and vegetables but too much of fatty, fried and processed foods will in the long run affect a man’s ability to perform in bed. Studies have also shown that men who have a balanced diet which includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats (which can be found in nuts, olive oil and fish) and wine have lower occurrence of erectile dysfunction.

(2)   Watch your weight

Overweight is found to link to a wide range of health problems, including type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure which can eventually cause erection problems. It is always a good idea to go for regular health screening to check on your cholesterol levels and blood pressure.

(3)   Moderation in drinking

Chronic heavy drinking can cause damage to liver, nerve and other conditions that can lead to erectile dysfunction.

(4)   Regular exercises

Running, swimming and other forms of aerobic exercise have been shown to help prevent ED. However, do avoid engaging too often in any form of exercise that can put a lot of pressure on the area between the scrotum and anus (such as cycling). If you go for cycling, choose those “no-nose” bike seats, wear padded cycling pants and stand up frequently while pedaling.

(5)   Regularly check on testosterone level after 40

A man’s testosterone level drops at an annual rate of about 1.3% after reaching 40. Symptoms like low sex drive, often in a state of gloominess, lack of stamina, or trouble making decisions are probably due to insufficient testosterone. It is advisable to visit your doctor to check on your testosterone level, so that he/she can propose any suggestions to help you cope with this.

(6)   Avoid anabolic steroids and smoking

Anabolic steroids are often used by athletes and bodybuilders to build up their stamina. High consumption of them can shrink the testicles and sap their ability to make testosterone. Smoking can restrict blood flow to the genitals and in the long run can cause erection problem.

(7)   Avoid risky sex behaviors

Steer clear of violent sex actions that you and/or your partner engage in that can cause injuries to your genitals.

(8)   Keep stress under control

Psychological stress hurts sex drive. Anything you can do to ease tension and feel better emotionally will be of great help to your sex life.

According to a 2004 study in the Journal of the American Medical Association, a man must masturbate or release his sperm more than 12 times a month to prevent prostrate cancer. Should this be used as an excuse for guys to masturbate as often as they want?

According to a 2004 study in the Journal of the American Medical Association, a man must masturbate or release his sperm more than 12 times a month to prevent prostrate cancer. Should this be used as an excuse for guys to masturbate as often as they want?

To be exact, it is actually ejaculation resulted from either by sex or masturbation that protect against prostrate cancer. While there are health advantages to the regular release of semen through sexual intercourse or masturbation, anything that you are doing in excess can become an addiction. But how can you know how much masturbation is too much?

There are no simple answers to this question. This is because too much masturbation cannot be determined only from the number of times you masturbate in a day or week.

Before finding out whether you masturbate too much, first you have to ask yourself:

(1)   Is your masturbation causing you to feel uncomfortable, guilty and unhappy?

(2)   Is your masturbation causing you to suffer unnecessary physical pain or damage?

(3)   Do you find yourself in the situation of not being able to stop masturbating?

If your answer to either one of these four questions is a yes, it is probably that you are masturbating too much. However there is still no magic number to determine whether if you are over masturbating.

Suppose if you have been masturbating too much, should you totally stop masturbating?

Till now, there are no health studies that suggest we should totally refrain masturbating. If you feel you are masturbating too much, it is alright to take a break from it and to take some time to think what the factors that trigger your self-stimulation activity are.

Should you be feeling guilty if you think you masturbate too much?

Masturbation is not something that is immoral, so I do not think anyone should feel guilty about it. The way to handle this feel of guilt is to recognize that masturbation is part of sexuality and if done in moderation can give you benefits in the form of pleasure and prevention of prostrate cancer.

What can happen if you masturbate too much?

One possible side effect is the difficulty in reaching climax or temporary dampening of your sexual response. You may also notice that after each ejaculation, the subsequent erection within the next hour is less hard. Too much masturbation can cause over production of sex hormones. Depending on each person, he may experience one or more of the following problems – pelvic pain, vision changes, testicular pain, hair loss, lower back pain, and fatigue.

Though masturbation can lower risk of prostrate cancer, you should not totally rely on it because this has to be tied in with the following:

(1)   maintain a balance diet

(2)   maintain a healthy weight

(3)   exercise regularly

At the same time, we should work on developing other interests/hobbies and on pursuing a relationship with another person so that you will, in time, develop a healthy, normal sexual relationship, and not one that is only dependent on self sexual gratification. What I am going to write here is about prostrate cancer which only affects men. Here are some of the basic facts about prostrate cancer and what men can do to protect themselves.

Where is the prostrate gland? It is located in the front of the lower end of the large intestine and below the bladder. Its main function is to produce the fluid that nourishes and protects sperm cells.

Prostrate cancer occurs when cells in the prostrate grow and multiply uncontrollably. It is the fifth most common cancer in Singaporean males and the most common in American men.

Like all other forms of cancer, early prostrate cancer often has no symptoms. If symptoms are present, they can vary from man to man and may include:

(1)   frequent, difficult or painful urination

(2)   not being able to urinate

(3)   weak or interrupted urine flow

(4)   blood in the urine

(5)   blood in sperm

(6)   painful ejaculation

(7)   frequent pain or stiffness in the lower back, hips or upper thighs

The risk of prostrate cancer increases with age (over 50), genes (highest rate occurs in black men), family history and diet (too much of red meat and high fat diary products).

How should you protect yourself?

(1)   The best defense against prostrate cancer is to have regular screening especially if you belong to the high risk category.

(2)   Regular exercises

Aerobic exercises such as running, jogging, walking, cycling are one of the strongest preventers of diseases. Exercises can improve your blood circulation and boosts your immune system. Due to the stressful urban living lifestyle, finding the time and motivation to exercise regularly can be difficult for some. You can engage in aerobic exercises in a group. For example, in some dating outings, you can get your date to exercise with you such as arranging jogging, strolling or cycling in a park or along the beach. Or, you can arrange regular family outings to engage in exercise activities and this will definitely strengthen the bond among family members.

(3)   Proper diet

We are what we eat. Besides improper lifestyle, what we eat to a certain extent can increase the risk of getting chronic illness such as hypertension, diabetes, heart diseases or getting cancer. Do you know that eating too much barbecued foodstuff can increase the risk of getting cancer?

Here are some of the foods that can cut down the risk of contracting prostrate cancer:

(a)    Broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale and Brussels sprouts. All of these vegetables contain sulforaphane which acts as an antioxidant agent helping to prevent the cells in our body against mutating into cancerous cells.

(b)   Soybean is a high protein legume which can be eaten in various forms such as soy milk, soy bean curd or tofu and protein powder. Soy products like tofu contain several types of phytoestrogens that could help to prevent both prostrate and breast cancer by blocking and suppressing cancerous changes in cells.  However, there are some precautions to consider when adding soy to your diet. Moderate daily consumption of up to four or five ounces of tofu or other soy product is ok. Beyond this amount, soy products may cause hormone imbalance that stimulate cancer growth.

(c)    Tomatoes consist of an antioxidant compound called lycopene which according to some research studies can help men to reduce the risk of getting prostrate cancer. So, you can now spice up your meal with ketchup, tomato soup, or add few slices of tomatoes to your dish or you can just eat it raw like you are eating an apple.

(d)   Licorice root has a chemical called glycyrrhizin that blocks a compound of testosterone and therefore may help to prevent the growth of prostrate cancer. But excessive consumption of them can lead to high blood pressure.

(4)   Masturbating/regular sex

Masturbating is probably the laziest, easiest and less time consuming way to prevent prostrate cancer. It is the act of ejaculation (which can also achieve through normal sex) that helps the prostrate to cleanse itself of any cancer-causing carcinogens. I personally don’t advocate masturbating too often because this can have the side effect of causing premature ejaculation and your sex partner will become “high and dry” as well as being sexually-deprived. I think regular sex is a better alternative than masturbating.

Men Health – Does Size Really Matter In Sex?

Do You Want To Put Her In The Best Position To Orgasm? Click Here!

Is bigger always better for sex? When most people hear this question, they will immediately think about penis size. Many men think their penis is small. Research confirms that men worry about penis size more than women do and are more dissatisfied with the size of their penis than women are with their partners’ penis size.

There are many reasons why men think their penis is too small, and this is due to men’s tendency in comparing their own penis to someone else’s, which I believe is a fruitless exercise. So, do women really care about penis size?

In a world of super size cars, extra large servings for McDonald meals and non-stop effort to build the world’s next tallest building, it is hard to stop thinking about whether bigger is actually better for everything. When comes to the ability to satisfy women, men places a lot of pride on the size of their penis.

So, does penis size really matter? The reality is that most of the time size doesn’t matter. In fact, I have some women telling me, too big a size causes painful sex. Other women aren’t shy to say that lovemaking skill is more important than size.

Rather than relying on hearsays and the hundreds of junk mails that try to sell you penis enlargement products, let’s look at what research tells us about whether penis size matter?

A survey of 655 women between the ages of 19-49 asked about whether penis length and girth matter. The findings revealed:

(a)    18% said penis length was very important, 22% said penis girth was very important

(b)   57% said penis length was somewhat important

(c)    25% said penis length was unimportant, 25% said penis girth was unimportant

A major flaw of this study was that it did not specify the optimal size. Therefore, women who felt penis girth matters a lot may have different ideas of what the ideal penis girth is. The assumption could be bigger is better, but this is not confirmed by the study. Other more specific studies try to find out about women’s preference between length and girth, still cannot come to any conclusion about preferable size.

OK, let’s come out with some scientific facts and figures to put to rest some of the claims and myths about whether or not penis size matters and what is normal for the majority of men. A worldwide study of over 40 independent penis size research projects undertaken since 1942 has come up with a general penis size guideline. Feedback from over 11,000 survey participants put the average erect size of the adult penis is between 5.5 inches to 6.2 inches in length and 4.7 inches to 5.1 inches in girth.

If you happen to be one of the millions who are outside of the average range size in length and girth, please do not worry. You can still make the most of what you have.

The following are some best sex positions that make every man feel “big” irrespective of his penis size.

(1)   The Snake Position

Get your women to lie down flat on her belly. Put a pillow under her hips so that her buttocks ache upward. Keep your knees bent and position your genital just behind her bottom. Gently spread her thighs just enough to allow penetration and slide your way in. Be careful to keep your weight off her body during intercourse. If you want to get the feel of tight fit, simply hold her thighs together as you penetrate her.

(2)   The Doggie Position

This is quite similar to the snake position. The difference is instead of lying on her belly, she has to kneel down, her back bend forward so that her buttocks are raised upward. Same as above, you penetrate her from behind.

(3)   The Rabbit Ears Position

Get her to lie on her back, spread her thighs and draw her legs up so that her knees are quite close to her chest. Put a pillow under her buttocks which will place her vagina at an angle that is suitable for penetration. To keep her knees in place, you can rest her legs on your shoulders as you thrust forward.

(4)   The V-Formation Position

With her lying flat on her back, you position yourself between her thighs and enter her as you normally would from a kneeling position. Next raise her legs and then spread them apart until they form a “V”. This position allows you to stimulate her clitoris. Free one of your hands by allowing one of her legs to rest on your shoulder and stimulate her clitoris until she orgasms.

While it is true that society tends to place a great deal of importance on size, the truth is that a penis of any size can bring a woman to orgasm. Irrespective of size, foreplay is still needed to “warm” her up.

Of course, the most important thing is the strength of the relationship with your woman. If she feels loved and appreciated and has strong feelings for you, just words and touching can easily turn her on. If she dislikes you, even you can have elephant-sized penis and superb lovemaking skills, she will not respond to whatever you do. On the contrary, her feelings towards your gestures/actions will make her feel been molested or raped.

Men Health – How Can I Keep It Hard Longer?

Inline image 1

At some stage in their life, most men have a problem getting and keeping an erection. It is only when the erection is not sustained in order to have sex at least half of the time does the lack of fullness and hardness becomes a problem. If this is so, you may be suffering from erectile dysfunction (ED).

ED can affect men at any age, but is more common as men get older. It’s estimated that half of all men aged 40-70 have some degree of ED.

ED can have physical and psychological causes, and sometimes be a combination of both. The most common physical cause is the narrowing of the blood vessels in the penis due to heart problem, high blood pressure and diabetes. Psychological causes include depression, anxiety and relationship problems.

ED can also be a side effect of drug use, whether for recreation or for treatment. Drugs such as hormones, tricyclic anti-depressants, muscle relaxants, diuretics, beta-blockers and H2 blockers are common culprits. Addictive substances may also cause problems. To solve your erectile problems, talk to your doctor about possible alternatives may resolve the problem. If you are using recreational drugs, you might want to stop.

How To Treat ED?

Treatment for ED depends on what is causing it.

Erectile dysfunction can be an important signal to other issues. It is associated with raised cholesterol, diabetes and raised blood pressure. Any of these can be a warning of future heart disease. Your doctor can ensure that you get the treatment you need.

Symptoms of ED can often be improved by making lifestyle changes, such as losing weight, if you are overweight,  giving up smoking, drinking less alcohol, exercising regularly and reducing stress

If your erection problem is due to psychological cause such as stress or performance anxiety, the key is not to panic. Take your time and engage in longer foreplay or try some new techniques to help make things more interesting and back some of the pressure off of your penis. Get creative but, most important is to have fun. For example, you can get her to suck your cock or go down and lick her pussy and ass. That may get you going.

If you want to put it in and it is not hard enough, you can ask her to get on her hands and knees, and rub the head of your cock against her pussy hole for a few minutes. What you need is just to focus on the pleasure and sensation of rubbing against her. Before you know it, it will get semi-hard, and you can then pop right in.

If the above ways do not work, you may consider psychological treatments such as sex therapy or cognitive behavioral therapy, which is a form of relationship therapy where you and your partner can discuss any sexual or emotional issues or concerns.

If you are prescribed blood pressure tablets or antidepressants which cause erection difficulty, your doctor may be able to put you on a different kind.

If your erection problem is due to low testosterone, it can be treated with hormone replacement therapy. This should resolve erectile dysfunction as long as it’s used together with erection-helping drugs. Other conditions, such as diabetes and high blood pressure, can be treated, which may improve erections.

There are drugs that may be used to treat the physical problems of impotence, which may be taken orally or through injections. Sildenafil (brand name Viagra) may be prescribed and used safely, as long as you are not taking nitrates for heart problems. There are also drugs that are injected directly into the penis and produce an erection that could last about one hour.

Some devices, such as vacuum or constriction rings, can be very helpful in getting and keeping an erection. There are also implants that are inserted into the man’s penis that may either be semi-rigid or inflatable, allowing more control. There are many different kinds and styles of these devices and are very useful if the erectile dysfunction problem is due to physical cause.

If your doctor has certified that your erection difficulty is not due to any underlying medical problems, you can turn to Get Harder Erection and Dirty Harry’s Secrets for inspiration, ideas and tools to get back the erection you want.
