Squalene Oil benefits for Skin

Squalene Oil benefits for Skin - Squalene oil has many uses, but for anti-aging, it provides deep moisture and helps plump up areas where creases and wrinkles occur. It penetrates beneath the skin, stimulating the body's natural collagen and elastin production, which is critical for reducing fine lines. Let’s take a look at some of the benefits of squalene oil, particularly for your skin.
Click HERE to Get Access to the Secrets of a Glowing Skin

Every product on the market gets good press and bad press.  Squalene oil came under fire during the swine flu epidemic because it was an ingredient in the vaccination, which some radicals felt was poison.  Here’s the truth: squalene oil is not poisonous.  In fact, your body already produces it naturally, so it’s already in your system.

Squalene oil is produced by animals, plants and even humans.  Deep sea sharks are the most common source, since squalene is extracted from sharks that inadvertently get caught up in commercial fishing nets.  However, it can also be taken from wheat, rice bran, olive oil and other plants. It helps to maintain the health, moisture and softness of skin.

The amount of squalene in our skin declines as we age, so topical application helps maintain the moisture and especially treats the skin for roughness, and dryness. By keeping our skin moist you effectively treat wrinkles and the appearance of aging skin.

In our bodies squalene is a precursor to cholesterol synthesis. Squalene restores the skins suppleness and flexibility. Recent studies have identified Squalene as a natural protective agent in human sebum.

Sebum is the normal lubricant of hairy and non-hairy skin. It keeps the skin supple and forms a protective bacterial and fungicidal coating on the skin which helps to keep moisture on the skin surface. These findings promote the use of Squalene in dermatological applications. Squalane (also referred to as squalene) is therefore a perfect addition to any natural skin care regimen.

Squalene has many uses, but for anti-aging, it provides deep moisture and helps plump up areas where creases and wrinkles occur.  It penetrates beneath the skin, stimulating the body’s natural collagen and elastin production, which is critical for reducing fine lines.

For anti-aging formulations, if you check the label on the back of most wrinkle fighting serums and creams, you’ll probably find squalene oil is in there already.  It has been for years – even in organic products.  So, in word, yes, it’s safe.  It’s also extremely effective.  Your skin will likely feel smoother and suppler with quality oil like squalene.

Most of the anti-wrinkle formulas on the market already contain squalene, but you can also find it as an essential oil.  Some people use the oil itself on deep frown lines and wrinkles and swear they disappear within days.  Others add it to regular moisturizing lotion to get the anti-aging benefits without the high end price tag.  Either way, squalene is very safe and works well.

Some people with sensitive skin might want to try a diluted version, as the full concentration could prove too strong.  If you find that using squalene oil makes you break out or redness and irritation occur, try adding just a couple drops to a regular lotion and apply it that way.

Squalene oil has proven to be beneficial in application of topical healing medications. It readily compounds with other ingredients and increases the rate of penetration of the squalene/medication compound through the epidermis.

Squalene oil when applied externally acts much like a natural protector and stimulates regeneration of the skin surface. These properties make this ingredient essential to help reduce the appearance of scars. Squalene is therefore particularly effective for skin repair.  It is also a potent antioxidant and protects your skin from environmental damage while keeping it soft and healthy.

It adds moisture to your hands if used in a hand ointment. It is high in antioxidants — it attacks free radicals that are attempting to start the formation of skin cancer. As far as flu-shots go, squalene helps boost the body’s immune system, and it’s used for that purpose in vaccinations.

Stretch marks are a source of distress, especially for women during and after pregnancy. When your abdomen expands during the growth of your baby inside of you, then skin breakage will be effectively prevented. The use of squalene oil during and after pregnancy also helps maintain your healthy skin by stimulating the production of new skin cells.

By increasing skin elasticity and strength, squalene oil can decrease the appearance of existing stretch marks and prevent the development of new stretch marks.

Squalene oil penetrates the skin quickly, does not leave a greasy feeling on the skin and blends well with other oils and vitamins. Take note, if you want to try other pregnancy cream for stretch marks, just make sure it contains the major ingredients which are safe and effective for its purpose.

Are you looking for homemade facial mask ideas that incorporate those natural nutrients that work to keep your skin healthy? Any mask that utilizes plant oils, and vitamin and plant based antioxidants will directly benefit the healthy glow of your skin.

A good homemade facial mask is a type of hydrating mask that stays on your face for 20 to 30 minutes and actually penetrates the skin providing moisture to the next level. Many tightening or cleansing masks are different colors and harden as they stay on your face, but a honey hydrating mask is almost clear in color. You may even forget you have it on.

If you feel like your skin has lost its glow, you need to find a good honey facial mask to give your skin a boost. Everyday cleansers are applied to our face and then quickly wiped or rinsed off so there effects are minimal. Their purpose is really to cleanse the top layer of skin and remove makeup, mascara and eye shadows.

You can do this by making your own facial mask. Homemade facial masks are cheap and easy to make, as well as being very effective. Some facial masks are expensive to buy and why bother when you can do it in the comfort of your own home. The basic principle is putting food on your face. What could be so hard about that!

The application of any homemade facial mask is the same. First cleanse your skin, and then apply your mixture. Leave to set for approximately 10 minutes before removing with warm water. Dry the skin gently before applying a natural moisturizer.

When you are making your own honey facial mask, make sure you choose a good quality honey as its main ingredient. Manuka honey is a product of New Zealand and has a 16 plus rating which means it has the highest level of antioxidant properties.

Honey has been recognized as a topical solution for a number of major skin issues, so you at least know that what you are putting on your skin is natural and safe and not going to create further problems down the road.

If you have acne problem, honey is an ideal choice because it is a natural acne treatment that has little side effects. Whereas topical ointments and creams leave your skin dry and irritated, honey locks in moisture on the skin and makes it softer and suppler.

A honey facial mask is both cheap and easy to make: just dip a sponge into a bowl of honey and apply a thin layer on your face while gently massaging the skin. Keep it on for about 10 minutes, and then rinse off with water.

Over the years I have also made/used many facial masks using other natural ingredients, but I wanted to share with you the ones that have been most effective for me. The following are my Top 6 Homemade Facial Masks.

The Classic Egg White and Yogurt Homemade Facial Mask

This has to be the easiest of all the homemade facial masks, which is why I call it the classic! Composing of just 2 ingredients and under 3 minutes to prepare, this is a quick and easy way to better looking skin.

Ingredients: – 2 egg whites – 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt

How to: Simply separate the 2 egg whites and place in a bowl. Add in the plain yogurt and mix together. Apply to your pre-cleansed face and leave for 10 minutes, before removing with warm water and then apply a moisturizer.

Coffee and Cocoa Homemade Facial Mask

Probably the best smelling of any face mask. This is another very simple face mask to prepare and very effective for rejuvenating your skin.

Ingredients: – 4 tablespoons of ground coffee beans – 4 tablespoons of cocoa powder – 8 tablespoons of plain yogurt – 2 tablespoons of honey. (This is typically for dry skin, so you can substitute this for lemon juice if you have oily skin)

How to: Grind the coffee beans and the cocoa powder in a bowl. Add in the honey and the yogurt to form a dense mixture. Apply to your pre-cleansed face and leave for 10 minutes, before removing with warm water and then apply a moisturizer. The key to this is to ensure that the coffee beans are very finely ground to avoid any damage to the face.

Lemon Juice Homemade Facial Mask

This is a facial mask for oily skin.

Ingredients: 1 teaspoon of honey, 1 drop of sweet almond oil and 3 drops of diluted lemon juice for a homemade facial mask.

How to: Mix all these ingredients together. Apply mixture to face, let stand for 15 – 20 minutes then rinse with water.  Gently dry with towel.  This helps reduce visible signs of pre-mature aging.

Banana and Honey Homemade Facial Mask

For sure these ingredients you can find around the house and again super easy to prepare.

Ingredients: – 1 banana – 1 tablespoon of honey – 1 tablespoon of orange juice

How to: Very simply mash up the banana and mix with the honey and orange juice to form a paste. Apply to your pre-cleansed face and leave for 10 minutes, before removing with warm water and then apply a moisturizer.

Egg Almond Homemade Facial Mask

This is more a facial mask for dry skin as the almond oil is a miracle worker on dry skin. This is another facial mask using just 2 simple ingredients.

Ingredients: – 1 egg white – 1 teaspoon of almond oil

How to: In a bowl mix the egg white and almond oil together. Apply to your pre-cleansed face and leave for 10 minutes, before removing with warm water and then apply a moisturizer.

Cat Litter Homemade Facial Mask

Before you ask what? Yes, you have read the title correctly. This does in fact use cat litter as the source of your face mask and yes, it does work. The cat litter must be 100% clay cat litter for this to work so make sure you read the bag correctly before purchasing.

Ingredients: – 1 bag of 100% clay cat litter – Water – Essential Oil

How to: In a bowl place 1 tablespoon of the cat litter and mix together with water and a couple of drops of the essential oil. Apply to your pre-cleansed face and leave for 10 minutes, before removing with warm water and then apply a moisturizer.

How to choose the Best Skin Care Program to Control Acne?

The best skin care program to control acne should be the one that suits your skin type, preferably it should have active ingredients like Salicylic Acid and Benzyl Peroxide; these active ingredients should be of the right amount of concentration to be potent enough and yet will not hurt your skin.

If you are looking for the best skin care program to control acne or to keep it from being noticeable, you will definitely be overwhelmed by the amount of information and products that offer huge and sometimes too-good-to-be-true claims.

This should be good for you in your attempts to get rid of acne and blemishes forever, but leads to the question: How to choose one that works?

Here’s how:

(1)       Pick one that suits your skin

The type of product you need must be the one that best suits your skin type. Is your skin dry, oily, sensitive? Different skin types have their own formulas that have been specially developed to work with that skin type accordingly.

If your skin is very oily, the obvious choices will be astringents, pads, foaming cleansers, gels and lotions. If your skin tends to be normal to dry, non-foaming cream cleansers, alcohol-free toners, lotions, creams and (possibly) ointments are good choices.

People who have sensitive skin should use a product that is listed as mild so that it has fewer chemicals that can be harsh on your skin.

But in reality, most of us don’t fall into the extreme category of being very dry or very oily skin. Therefore, it is no harm that you use a combination of products, provided your skin can handle it.

If you are not sure how the product will affect your skin or if your skin is allergic to it, you can test the product first by applying a small amount on your hand.

(2)       Get a good moisturizer that suits your skin type

Everyone’s skin requires specific amounts of moisture to be certain it retains elasticity and softness. Many acne skin care systems focus solely on reducing oil on the face.

The problem is after all the natural oil is removed, your skin will be very dry and this can cause wrinkles to appear. Your skin therefore needs some moisture, even if you have acne.

If you have oily skin, you should use an oil-free moisturizer. If your skin is very dry, you may need a heavier moisturizer, such as a hydrating cream, which will penetrate the epidermis to relieve dryness.

No matter what type of moisturizers you need, ensure your products are always water-based, oil-free and non-comedogenic, so they won’t clog the pores more.

(3)       Check for active ingredients

The most effective acne treatment products will contain either benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. Both these active ingredients are widely used in acne products.

Benzoyl peroxide products can work well for mild to moderate acne. Salicylic acid is useful for treating very mild breakouts and blackheads. When used together, these ingredients deliver an effective way in clearing your skin pores and killing bacteria that live on them – which is essential to reduce and to prevent acne from recurring.

Other helpful additions to watch for are sulfur, resorcinol, alpha hydroxy acids like glycolic acid and tea tree oil.

(4)       Choose the right concentration of active ingredients that suit your skin

The active ingredients in acne treatments come in different concentrations.

Salicylic acid comes in concentrations from 0.5% to 2%. The most effective products will contain 2% salicylic acid. Lower concentrations are good for those whose skin can easily get irritated, but won’t be as effective.

Benzoyl peroxide comes in concentrations from 2.5% up to 10%. Here higher concentration isn’t always better. A 2.5% benzoyl peroxide can be just as effective as a 10%, but with less side effects.

(5)       Get expert advice

If you aren’t seeing results after three or four months, you should seek expert advice from a doctor or a dermatologist. A dermatologist will be in a good position to ascertain your skin type and conduct a skin test for allergies. Based on the information, he/she will be able to choose the products and treatments that form the best skin care program to control acne.
